It took a few weeks before Ricky finally had time to have a sit-down with Moon, Shauna and a few guys from the marketing department. At first Shauna was sure that he had been holding back because of what had happened with Allan. He had been quite clear that he was not as impressed with Ricky as the rest of the fight club was.

“This guy is just an underground celebrity,” Allan had said when he and Shauna finally met to talk about Ricky.

“An underground celebrity with a lot of potential,” Shauna said. “You must admit that he does have a shot in the LUF.”

“The LUF?” Allan echoed as he looked at Shauna. “Seriously, that is where all this was going?”

“You are passing judgment before you even know what he is capable of. I mean, I have seen you work with worse talent.” She leaned forward and smiled. “You know that I’m right.”

Allan took a long deep breath and drummed his fingers on his desk.

“He is really rough around the edges and I mean really, really rough.”

“I know but he is definitely worth it. Trust me, you are going to thank me for it later,” she said and he sighed.

“Fine. I’ll give him a few tries and see how it all plays out.”

“LUF?” she asked and he put a hand up.

“I cannot promise anything. Heck, I’m only doing this for you because I owe your old man one.”

Shauna smiled and reached for his hand.

“And believe me when I say that I will be sure to tell him what you’ve done for me.”

That had been exactly three weeks earlier and judging by the way Allan had been talking about him lately, it was obvious that he had been working Ricky to the bone. When she saw him as he walked into the VILE offices, she could tell that things were a little different.

“You look…happy,” she said looking at him.

“I am actually,” he said smiling as he stood in front of her. “That Allan guy, as much as he can be a pain in the ass, he actually got me in the League of Ultimate Fighters.”

Shauna raised an eyebrow.

“Seriously?” she asked and he nodded.

“I even have a gig later organized by the league if you’d like to come,” he pointed out in a hopeful voice.

“I don’t think I should…” she started before he shook his head.

“Don’t even try. I wouldn’t have any of this without you.”

Shauna laughed and he raised an eyebrow in question.

“Fine. I’ll be there. Now, you have a meeting to get to.”

He smiled and followed her into the offices. Shauna could not help but notice how the VILE female folk were eyeing him. Shauna had seen Ricky’s eye candy quality from the very first day but she had not banked on the kind of effect he was going to have on the office. He might have been in a simple attire, a pair of navy blue pants and an ash gray shirt but he was calling attention to himself as he walked into the VILE offices.
